COVID-19 Situation
Dear ,

Thank you all for your continued commitment to delivering the best care possible in uncertain and unpredictable times. We know this takes a toll on everyone's mental and physical well-being, especially those at the frontlines. We want to remind you to practice self care during difficult times like these. We have self care resources on our website to support nursing self care and also wanted to share a useful resource from CAMH to help support mental health and help cope with anxiety in this difficult time.

Recruitment of Nurses

College of Nurses Guidance during COVID-19
As we noted in yesterday's update, the College of Nurses of Ontario has recently posted a new FAQ regarding Re-Instatement for Nurses in response to COVID-19. We are continuing to share this information today as we expect it is of interest to several nurses.

They have also provided guidance with regards to the accountabilities of nurses providing care to a patient diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19.

Key Updates and Resources for Health Professionals
The Chief Medical Officer of Health has issued a new memo advising health care workers to self isolate for 14 days following return from travel. This includes additional guidance for monitoring health care workers deemed critical.

Halton Region announced Ontario's 2nd COVID-19 related death of a man in his 50s with pre-existing conditions.

This afternoon, Premier Ford announced that the Ontario government would be suspending eviction orders until further notice as well as postponing renewals of drivers licenses, licence plate stickers and health cards.

The Federal government has enhanced the country's COVID-19 testing capacity, including purchasing 800 000 more testing kits, to support provinces in efforts to enhancing test.

As of 10:30AM today, Ontario reported 251 confirmed cases, 5 resolved cases, 3372 currently under investigation with lab results pending.
