care workers with opportunities.
We encourage RPNs looking for employment opportunities to sign up on all the platforms noted above.
Key Provincial Updates and Resources for Health Professionals Today, a group of unions representing RPNs and other health care providers, issued an open letter calling for changes to Directive #5 to include access to PPE for all health care workers. This reinforces
WeRPN's call for clarification on this directive that we published last week.
The Ministry of Health's COVID-19 Command Table issued the following summary of yesterday's meeting outlining key priorities.
This afternoon, the Ontario government announced the creation of a new portal to match available health care workers with employers. The goal is to enable health care providers with a range of experience to join the province's response to COVID-19, including retired or non-active health care professionals, internationally educated health care professionals, students, and volunteers with health care experience. As part of their response to COVID-19, the province is also investing $37 million to support outbreak planning, prevention and mitigation efforts to ensure the health and well-being of Indigenous people and communities — particularly those in remote and far-northern regions.
As of 10:30AM today, Ontario reported 4,726 confirmed cases, 1,802 resolved cases, 153 deaths and 691 currently under investigation with lab results pending.
The Ministry is now also reporting that 614 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19, 223 are in ICU and 187 are vented.
