Key Provincial Updates and Resources for Health Professionals
Today the Ontario government announced it would be celebrating Canada Day by offering free day use at all provincial parks, and beginning on July 4, 2020, the province is offering free fishing for two weeks, double the length of last year.

Yesterday, Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott announced that the government is sending teams to farms with high rates of COVID-19 among workers. These teams will include medical personnel and translators and will communicate with workers who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in order to ensure that only those who are feeling well and are truly asymptomatic may return to work.

Late last week, the Ontario government announced it is providing up to $4 million for the Seniors Community Grant Program. This funding will help non-profit organizations, local services boards, or Indigenous groups develop programs for seniors that focus on combatting social isolation, promoting seniors' safety and well-being, improving financial security and making communities age-friendly.

The following guidance documents have been updated:

Key Federal Updates
Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced he will no longer hold daily press conferences, but instead just a few conferences a week. The Federal government will continue to publish daily updates on the pandemic. According to the Prime Minister "things are moving in the right direction,” despite the threat of a second wave.

Canada's chief public health officer said transmission of the novel coronavirus is largely under control in this country, but warned that the caseload can flare up at any time – risking a summer outbreak.

The Prime Minister also announced a one-month extension of the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CERCA) program.
