Today, we saw a disturbing report released by the Canadian Armed Forces regarding the conditions they encoutered at 5 LTC facilities in Ontario.These findings echo concerns that nurses have been raising for years. Read our statement.

Key Provincial Updates and Resources for Health Professionals
Today, the Premier announced that the government would be taking action following the receipt of a report from the Canadian Armed Forces that outlines serious concerns around infection prevention, safety, staffing and level of care. This entails launching a full investigation into the allegations, including an investigation by Ontario’s Chief Coroner.

The COVID-19 Reference Document for Symptoms has been updated to include some additional language around how multisystem inflammatory vasculitis may present in children.

Key Federal Updates
Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau provided an update on the country's supplies of PPE, noting that 40 flights carrying personal protective equipment have arrived in Canada. The federal government has also signed an agreement with GM to make 10M masks at their Oshawa plant.

The Prime Minister also called the Canadian Armed Forces report deeply disturbing.

Daily Reports
As of 10:30AM today, Ontario reported 26,191 confirmed cases (increase of 287), 19,958 resolved cases, 2,123 deaths and 6,961 currently under investigation with lab results pending.

The Ministry is also reporting that 848 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19, 143 are in ICU and 113 are vented. To view these additional details: click here
