1. WeRPN and Western University continue to recruit volunteers to take part in a research study to describe the process of how RPNs build and sustain personal and professional resiliency during a crisis such as COVID-19 in Long Term Care. We are hoping to hear from 1000 RPNs!!
RPNs who work in LTC are invited to participate.If you are interested and agree to participate you would be asked to: complete a 30 minute online survey that includes demographic questions and questions about stress and resilience during COVID-19.
2. Seeking input from RPNs providing dementia care

Key Provincial Updates and Resources for Health Professionals
Yesterday, the
government that Ontario is launching mobile vaccine units for small to medium-sized businesses in hot spot communities. These mobile units will begin offering vaccinations in Toronto, York Region and Peel Region at select businesses that have employees who cannot
work from home and have a history or risk of outbreaks.
Also, Health Canada authorized the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in children 12 to 15 years of age. This is the first COVID-19 vaccine authorized in Canada for use in children and marks a significant
milestone in Canada's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tuesday, the Ontario Government released an updated Directive #3 for Long-Term Care Homes from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, along with a guidance document for long-term care homes. The updated Directive #3 sets out that long-term care homes can now safely resume select activities due to 95 per cent of long-term care residents being fully immunized and more than 85 per cent of staff have received at least their first dose
On Monday, the government provided data points on Ontario’s case count and COVID-19 rates for April. Key updates include the following:
An average of 3782 COVID cases daily.
A positivity rate of 7.1% positivity rate in COVID-19 tests compared in the first half of April, compared to the second half, which had a noticeable increase to an 8.6% positivity rate.
Since loosening the age bands last week, there have been over 130,000 vaccine appointment bookings.
As of 10:30AM today, Ontario reported 483,057 confirmed cases (increase
of 3,424), 440,467 resolved cases, 8,213 deaths.
