Member Update:
COVID-19 Situation- March 2nd
Dear ,

With vaccinations top of mind, we have received several questions from nurses about the roll out plans for their regions. While the provincial government has outlined the the 3 phase vaccine rollout plan, individual public health units will be responsible for the implementation in their local regions. With the support of the Vaccine Task Force, we have pulled together a document that provides links to more information from each public health unit. You can also find contact information for your public health unit here.

Key Provincial Updates and Resources for Health Professionals
Today, the government announced it is supporting the arts sector with a one-time investment of $25 million to help artists and arts organizations survive the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yesterday, the government outlined $14.3 million in ongoing funding that is being used to support approximately 300 Seniors Active Living Centres in 2020-21. This funding will help centres deliver virtual initiatives to keep seniors safe and socially connected during COVID-19.

On Friday afternoon, the Ontario government announced the movement of nine public health regions to new levels of the province’s COVID-19 Response Framework. This announcement included the activation of the “emergency brake” in Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit, to move both regions immediately to Grey-Lockdown. The re-classification came into effect yesterday, March 1, at 12:01 a.m.
