Key Provincial Updates and Resources for Health Professionals Today, the government promoted their budget commitment to allow municipalties to reduce property taxes.
Yesterday, the government announced an investment of $511,000 in the Pathways to Post-Military Employment program to support 180 military veterans in their return to civilian life. This program is administered by Helmets to Hardhats Canada, and will help connect veterans with jobs in the construction industry
On Friday, Premier Ford and Finance Minister Rod Phillips outlined the $15.2 billion investment in health care announced yesterday in the 2020 Budget, Ontario’s Action Plan: Protect, Support, Recover. This investment includes $351 million for more than 2,250 new beds at 57 hospitals and alternate health facilities across the province, which was previously announced in the government’s Fall Preparedness Plan. Yesterday, the Prime Ministerannounced an investment of $1.75 billion to help connect Canadians to high-speed Internet across the country, grow businesses, and create jobs. This investment will connect 98 per cent of Canadians across the country to high-speed Internet by 2026, with the goal of connecting all Canadians by
2030.
The Prime Minister was also optimistic about Pfizer's early vaccine trial results, suggesting a vaccine may be ready in early 2021.

As of 10:30AM today, Ontario reported 86,783 confirmed cases (increase of 1388), 73,417 resolved cases, 3,260 deaths and 27,802 currently under investigation with lab results pending.
The Ministry is also reporting that 422 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19, 82 are in ICU and 54 are vented. To view these additional details:click here
